Lexie Macleod is a ceramic artist from the Scottish Highlands. After graduating from Gray’s School of Art, with a BA (Hons) in 3D Design she spent several years working in potteries across the UK and Europe, developing a broad and versatile foundation in ceramic practice before establishing her studio on the Black Isle.
Lexie creates functional pottery designed for daily use, guided by the belief that everyday objects should be beautiful - inviting to hold, touch, and live with. Her current practice centres on Hakeme slipware techniques, using thick white slip brushed across dark, leatherhard clay to create dynamic, spontaneous surface textures. Ash collected from her Highland hearth is incorporated into her glazes, embedding a tangible sense of place and connecting her work to the natural materials and fareastern ceramic traditions that inspire her.
