Overview
After graduating from Gray’s School of Art in Aberdeen with a BA Jewellery, Lucy Woodley ran a successful jewellery business in the Scottish Highlands for 20 years.
Woodley's work has moved from jewellery to larger works based on the natural world around her. Her work is narrative and are often layered with details of changing seasons or delicate shadows.
Woodley's most recent body of work 'Ultima Thule' tells the timeless stories of migrants fleeing from war and persecution. Full of symbolism and mystery, each work touches on delicate contemporary themes of war, violence and persecution, whilst maintaing an undertone of hope and faith.
